Wonder Woman Tshirt Dress

Lilly is in love with playing superheroes.
Lilly is in love with capes.
Lilly is in love with her daddy flying her through the house saying "It's Super Lilly, to the rescue! Here she comes to save the day! It's Super Lilly! Hooray Hooray!"

And since I happened to have this 5T Wonder Woman shirt {mistakenly purchased for Caleb by someone who will remain nameless, lol}, I decided to turn it into an tshirt dress, even though I swear I can only sew a straight line.

All this during nap time...

I laid one of her larger shirts flat on top of the WW to gauge where I wanted to cut. I picked this one because it's a bit long on her and I liked the silhouette.

Then after really just eyeballing where I wanted to cut, I turned it inside out and folded it in half so I could make one cut along both seams, all the way through the arm.

In all of my infinite sewing wisdom {which is minimal} I've learned that you have to pin stuff. For serious. It's such a hassle but it makes such a difference. I ran it through the machine {unpictured} and made a straight line about half an inch from the edge.

I'm a crafter, which means I'm a slight hoarder. I reached into my grab bag of junk and found the perfect little eyelet lace/ruffle and some yellow bias tape to make it pop.

See? I just looped it through.

Then I pinned and sewed.

And voila!
Quick nap time project done!

I chose to pair it with tights and sparkly red ballet flats.
She chose the $1 Hoppy Hoppy hat.
Happy Tuesday!
