Dudes. This summer has been intense. In the best kind of way.
So many things to do, so many people to see. Busy.
Do I need to remind you about this time last year...when TJ was leaving for Afghanistan??
Ya. I'll take the hustle and bustle over deployment any day.
So here's been the front half of our summer:
Heyooo! We've been married for ten years, y'all. We had a nice little night away, like we usually do, in town, and ate good Mexican food. And I bought a dress that wasn't on sale at Target {what}. You can see more of this dress below, because when I get something new, I immediately wear it into the ground.
I can't really comprehend the fact that we've been married for a decade. How did we get so old?? I'm just so thankful to our amazing God for showing us grace throughout these ten years.
My Christygirl's whirlwind wedding was in full swing. She wanted a low-key bachelorette with her favorite girls.
The Anaheim Packing District is the cool place to be right now. We hung out at The Blind Rabbit speakeasy at the Packing House {which is basically a hipster food court}. It's really one of the best things that's happened to Anaheim in a while.
Get out of here. How gorgeous is my sister?!
Like every summer, TJ's dad and his family come out to California for a large part of the summer. For whatever reason, his youngest brother, Matthew {Uncle Matthew} has been Caleb's obsession for the past few years. He's all he talks about. We've attempted to figure out why {he's the youngest, he's very sweet, patient, funny, silly, easygoing}, but a lot of the time with Caleb we don't particularly need a specific rhyme or reason; if it works we just go with it. And we love Uncle Matthew.
We surprised Caleb by having Matthew show up at Grandma's house one night. Caleb had been counting down the {figurative} days to his arrival, so he wasn't expecting to see him for another week. The surprise went pretty well; he was a bit nervous and wasn't sure what was going on, but hey, Uncle Matthew's here! Yay!
Every year Grandma JoJo takes us to The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory for treats from Aunt Angie. It really never gets old.
We hadn't planned anything for Independence Day, but we were so excited to celebrate last-minute with other friends who had nothing going on!
Seriously. These kids are the best. And their parents are near and dear to my heart. I'm finding so much joy in our little community life at Beachpoint.
We've been doing a lot of playing outside {and lots of sunscreening}. Lilly Belle can finally pedal and even ride this little pink Radio Flyer from Auntie Erin.
Caleb turned SIX.
How.
We had a Ninja Turtle bounce house and our small little party went so well.
He enjoyed playing with the cousins, jumping with CooPops, and feeding Holly "bubble bites".
I mean {photo credit TBoner}.
I made Lilly this dress from one of TJ's button down shirts.
It was pretty easy. You should do it too.
I tested out rag curls using damp baby wipes {possibly for Christy's wedding}.
I still can't believe she let me put them in her hair.
Pretty nice result!
SPOILER ALERT
We tested out the wedding garb.
Hello handsome.
Hello gorgeous.
Come back soon and we'll talk more about the middle of our summer.
"Gotta keep on, keep on, keep on, keep on, dancin' on through the night..."
